On 12th September, our Service Director, Alex Flowers, completed the Great North Run to raise money for the charity Mind.
The Great North Run is a half marathon which was established in 1981. Covering a route of 21km, runners make their way from Newcastle to South Shields in their quickest time possible, whilst also raising money for good causes.
Alex chose to complete the half marathon on behalf of Mind, a charity close to our hearts here at BJB, and in a recent radio interview, Alex was quoted as saying “Mental health has a large impact on everyone’s lives, and Mind provides an opportunity to reach out and speak about what’s going on, so they can know they have the support they need.”
Alex managed to raise an amazing £575 to go to Mind, and reminds everyone that it is OK to talk, and to use the support that is offered by wonderful charities and services such as Mind.
